Nelson Airport was evacuated this morning after it received an email of a "concerning nature".
The airport said is was evacuated just after 9am after it received a threatening email.
"Police, ambulance and the fire service attended," a spokesperson said. "Police cleared the building for re-entry a little before 10am. Flights have now resumed."
Police said it is confident there is no ongoing threat, though the terminal was still evacuated at the time as a safety precaution. Both the airport and planes were cleared.
"Police acknowledge how unsettling these emails are for all concerned. We'd like to thank all involved for their cooperation as we investigate these emails," a police spokesperson said.
"Inquiries are continuing into the source of the email."
Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) told 1News it responded to an alarm activation at the airport, however it was a false alarm and related to a separate incident.
