Four state highways in the North Island are closed following separate serious crashes today.
State Highway 26, Motumaoho, and SH31, Otorohanga, are both closed after serious crashes this morning.
Police said both incidents resulted in "serious injuries" and the serious crash unit has been advised.
Waka Kotahi NZTA said a detour is in place.
SH31 also has a detour in place, Waka Kotahi NZTA said.
Meanwhile, SH36/Pyes Pa Rd in the Bay of Plenty is closed after a two-vehicle crash which was reported at 12.47pm.
Police have indicated there are serious injuries. Detours are also in place.
The serious crash unit has again been advised and there are detours in place.
State Highway 51, Napier, is also closed following a single-vehicle crash which was reported at 12.48pm.
Detours are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
These closures come after three fatal crashes across New Zealand today, two in the North Island and one in the South Island.
