A postie has caused thousands of dollars in damages after throwing a package at a home during a delivery in Sydney.
CCTV footage shows a courier driver throwing the parcel onto the front porch with one hand before taking a photo with his phone in Parramatta. He can then be seen walking back to his van.
The package, containing printer cartridges, was thrown hard enough to crack a glass panel, Nine reports.
"He threw it so hard that it cracked the toughened glass panel beside my front door," homeowner Mick said.
The contents of the parcel were also damaged in the process.
The printer cartridges were replaced free of charge. However, the courier company denied any responsibility for the damage.
He was reimbursed nearly three months later, after threatening to lay a complaint with the Postal Industry Ombudsman.
"The amount wasn't massive, maybe about a couple of thousand, but I had to hire a carpenter to remove the glass," Mick said.
