Person killed in two-vehicle crash on SH1 in Otago

One person has been killed in a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 1 in Otago this afternoon, police say.

First responders were called to the Waihola Highway crash, near Clarendon in Clutha District, at around 1.30pm today.

The road has since re-opened after the crash.

"Two people were transported to hospital in a moderate and minor condition.

"The road remains closed, but should be cleared shortly.

"Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing," a police spokesperson said.
