Police investigate after body found on West Coast track

Police are investigating after a body was found on a track on the West Coast this morning.

A spokesperson said the body was discovered by a member of the public on the Pororari River Track in Punakaiki at around 9.20am.

A scene examination is currently underway, where the body was located.

“An investigation is underway into the circumstances of the death,” police said.

The Porarari River Track has stayed open.
