McDonald's customers could soon be getting more bang for their buck, with the fast food giant revealing its new strategy to drum up business – bigger, better-tasting burgers.
It comes after the world's largest fast food restaurant chain announced its plans last week to open CosMc's, a new restaurant format to compete with the likes of Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts.
At an investor event on Thursday, McDonald’s’ senior vice president of international developmental licenced markets, Jo Sempels, said they have "listened to our customers" and their demand for bigger burgers.
"We understand their desire for larger, high-quality burgers that fill you up," she said.
CEO Chris Kempczinski today told CNN that "having a larger burger is an opportunity".
"We’re working on that," he said. "That is something that you should expect in the future."
Meanwhile, the burger chain has also revealed its ambitious goal to operate 50,000 McDonald’s stores around the world by 2027, with 900 new stores in the US and 1900 in international markets. McDonald's is also planning to open 7000 stores in international markets operated by licenses – half of which will be in China.
There are currently around 41,000 McDonald’s restaurants in over 118 countries and territories.
