Man facing multiple charges after six hurt in Auckland crash

A 22-year-old man faces a range of charges after a crash in east Auckland yesterday left a number of people injured.

The collision occurred on Half Moon Bay's Prince Regent Drive at about 5.30pm.

A police spokesperson confirmed this morning it was a single-vehicle crash, and six people were injured.

Local publication Times Online reported four people were were taken to hospital.

"Those hospitalised remain in a stable condition," police said this morning.

"The man arrested by police at the time is so far facing seven charges, including wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and injures with intent to cause grievous bodily harm."

He is set to face court today.

"Police understand this incident has caused great concern amongst the community, and we are continuing to investigate the circumstances of what took place.

"We would like to acknowledge the witnesses that have come forward so far to assist our investigation.

"Anyone who has not yet made contact with police is asked to get in touch."
