Arrest made after shots reportedly fired at Auckland building

A person has been arrested by police after shots were reportedly fired at a building in Auckland's Hobsonville this afternoon.

"Police have been notified of a person discharging shots at an industrial building on Hobsonville Road and are responding to the scene," a police spokesperson said.

In an updated statement at 5.40pm, police said a person has been arrested and "will be processed in due course".

The shots were first reported shortly before 5pm.

Police had reportedly blocked Hobsonville Road between Westpark and Marina View Drive while the incident unfolded, according to the NZ Herald.
