Man suffers facial wound in assault at Auckland reserve

A man has been arrested after an assault in Auckland's Point Chevalier on Saturday night.

Police were called to Eric Armishaw Reserve at around 8pm following reports of a disorder where a group of people were found fighting.

One person received a wound to the face and was taken to hospital in a moderate condition.

A 50-year-old man was arrested and charged with wounding with intent.

An investigation remains ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident.
