'Serious injuries' reported after four-vehicle crash in Waikato

"Serious injuries" have been reported after a four-vehicle crash in central Waikato this afternoon.

Police said they were responding to a serious crash near Karapiro, which was reported around 4.45pm.

The crash involved multiple vehicles and took place at the intersection of Buckland Rd and Karapiro Rd.

"Initial indications suggest there are serious injuries," a police spokesperson said.

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
