An Adelaide man who was allegedly glassed while trying to sell his car has spoken out following his discharge from hospital.

Muhammad Bilal, 31, listed his Subaru Impreza on Facebook Marketplace three days ago, meeting an interested buyer and two of his friends on Tuesday night in the carpark of a hotel in the inner city suburb of Clarence Gardens.

Prior to meeting, the prospective buyer sent Bilal a photo of his ID, a cash deposit and a real-time video of himself.

Following a short test drive, the buyer allegedly demanded that Bilal hand his phone over.

"If you can pass me the phone, I can transfer to you," Bilal said he was told.

"Otherwise you will lose the money and car as well."

When Bilal refused to hand over the phone, the trio allegedly lashed out.

"He started smashing the glass on my face … he just break the glass on my face," Bilal told 9News.

His keys, his car, and nearly NZD$7,000 in cash was stolen while he was incapacitated.

Bilal said he was traumatised and that he didn't know what was going on.

"I have more pain in my head, in my mind."

The trio were arrested on Wednesday morning but posted bail and will appear in court early next year.
