Neon, Sky Sport and Sky Sport Now customers are set to see their subscription fees go up in the new year.
Customers were alerted to the changes by email today.
For movie and television streamer Neon – owned by Sky – the price rise will come into effect from January 11.
Anyone wanting to watch hits such as Fargo, True Detective or Yellowstone will also begin to see ads from the same date.
Neon's monthly Standard Plan is increasing from $17.99 to $19.99 per month, while an annual plan is rising to $199.99 per year. Only the Basic Plan's pricing is unaffected – but it's becoming "Basic with Ads".
"Our Basic with Ads Plan will have ads both during video playback and on pause," a statement on the company's site explained.
"For Neon Standard and Annual plans, we're introducing exit-able ads on pause which means viewers will continue to enjoy an uninterrupted video-watching experience. Kids' content on all plans will not have any ads.
"With content costs increasing, we have to look at ways of subsidising those costs.
"Introducing ads on Neon helps us keep price increases at a minimum while still providing you with premium shows... and the latest blockbuster movies whilst continuing to invest in compelling and quality content."
Sky Sport's prices will increase a bit later, from February 1.
Currently, customers pay $37.99 a month to add Sky Sport to their Sky Box – but that will be boosted up to $42 a month.
And Sky Sport Now's monthly pass is increasing from $44.99 to $49.99 a month from the same date.
"We aim to bring our customers the sport they love, right across the year and that means continued investment in local and global sport, through event rights fees, production of live games and highlights, team and event sponsorships and partnerships with sport associations," customers were told.
