Furious Australian cruise ship passengers have had their outrage answered, with P&O revising its compensation offer after the ship they were on was unable to visit New Zealand.
In a written statement provided to 1News, P&O Cruises Australia said the 50% future cruise credit that was originally offered to guests will now be converted to a refund.
"We have listened to the feedback from our guests and understand not all of them wish to cruise with us again," the company spokesperson said.
It said guests onboard the Pacific Adventure were notified of the change after their ship was unable to visit Aotearoa due to biosecurity issues.
It comes after guests blasted the company on social media, demanding adequate compensation following changes to the "Kiwi Adventure" itinerary.

In its statement today, P&O again apologised for the change and thanked guests for their "patience and understanding."
Letters delivered to the rooms of guests on November 25 thanked them for their feedback, and suggested that the cleaning required for the Pacific Adventure to enter New Zealand was "minor".
"The cleaning that was required for Pacific Adventure to enter New Zealand was minor - removal of 3 juvenile mussels and a single hydroid commonly known as lace coral," the letter read.
"Conditions for diving off the Bay of Plenty were worse than forecast, meaning we could only safely complete part of the required cleaning.
"As a result, the ship could not meet the very strict New Zealand entry requirements.
"We hope this clarifies some of the information you have been seeking and that conversion of your 50% future cruise credits to a refund will allow you to enjoy everything we have to offer onboard and for the port calls ahead."
