One dead after Northland SH1 crash yesterday

One person has died following a serious two-vehicle crash that closed part of State Highway 1 in Northland yesterday.

Police said the crash took place between Kamo and Kauri, north of Whangārei around 4.30pm on Saturday afternoon.

The road was closed for three and a half hours last night, re-opening at 8pm on Saturday.

The serious crash unit is investigating.
