6 injured in multi-vehicle crash near Dannevirke

Six people have been injured in a multi-vehicle crash which closed part of State Highway 2 in Manawatū-Wanganui this afternoon.

Police said the crash involved multiple vehicles and took place on SH2 between Piripiri Rd and Otanga Rd.

One person was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries according to a police spokesperson.

Five others were also injured in the crash.

Waka Kotahi said that no detour is available.

"Follow directions of emergency services or delay your journey," read a statement on its website.
