The death of a Levin woman earlier this week is now not being treated as suspicious.

The 85-year-old had been found dead on Bath St on Wednesday, with police saying at the time her death was "unexplained".

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thompson announced this afternoon her death is now not being treated as suspicious.

It comes after a post mortem was completed this morning. A scene examination was completed yesterday.

Thompson said the woman's death is being referred to the coroner.
