Motorcyclist dies after two-vehicle crash in Greymouth

Police say a motorcyclist has died after a "serious crash" involving two vehicles in Greymouth on State Highway 6 this morning.

The crash occurred at about 10.05am on the northern side of the Grey River, just east of the Cobden Bridge.

Omoto Road and SH6 are closed and "is expected to be closed for another few hours", police said.

The condition of the other motorist is unknown.

Motorists will have to divert through Stillwater.
