One person has critical injuries after reports of a dog attack in Mangawhai, north of Auckland, this afternoon.

Police responded to the incident on Tara Road at around 1.10pm.

One person was critically injured and was rushed to Kidz First Children’s Hospital in Auckland.

"Animal control has been contacted and police are making inquiries in the area," a spokesperson said.
