Southern Motorway reopens after serious crash

Auckland's Southern Motorway has reopened after a serious crash closed a northbound section for several hours this morning.

The crash just before 10am involving three vehicles saw northbound lanes between Papakura and Takanini close.

Waka Kotahi provided an update at 3.15pm saying the crash had been cleared of lanes and the road northbound was reopen. Motorists should expect delays as congestion eases.

Police earlier said early indications suggested one person received critical injuries.
