A search for a person swept off the rocks at Auckland's Piha Beach this afternoon has been stood down for the day.
Police say they were called to the scene around 2.37pm.
The Police Eagle helicopter and surf lifeguards on board two rescue boats were taking part in the search, but have since been stood down for the day.
"Two inflatable rescue boat (IRB) crews have been launched to conduct a shoreline search following reports of a person being washed into the water at The Blue Pool south of South Piha beach," Surf Life Saving said in a statement earlier today.
