Part of SH2 blocked in central Gisborne after motorcycle crash

One person is critically injured after a motorcycle crash in central Gisborne blocked a section of State Highway 2 this afternoon.

The crash took place north of Cemetery Rd near Rakauroa and was reported to police shortly after 4.30pm.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and traffic management is being arranged.

The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
