A second person has been charged in connection with the murders of Fuk-Fu Joseph Kwok and Mei Han Chong in Auckland's Ellerslie last Sunday morning.

A 26-year-old man was arrested at an address in Glenfield yesterday evening, being taken into custody by police.

Police say the man has been "charged in relation to both murders". He will appear in the Auckland district court later this morning.

Detective Inspector Scott Beard said police are not looking for anyone else as part of their investigation.

“The investigation team has worked hard to reach this point," he said.

“While arrests have been made, there are still a number of enquiries yet to be completed.

“We can advise the scene examination has now been completed at the Greenhithe area where Ms Chong was located."

A post-mortem is expected to take place later this morning.

“Police are continuing to provide support to the family at the centre of this tragic incident,” Beard said.

A 42-year-old man is also facing two murder charges and appeared in court yesterday.

The investigation opened after Fuk-Fu Joseph Kwok, 66, was found dead by a family member at their Ellerslie property on Monday evening.

Yesterday, the man's wife Mei Han Chong was found dead in Greenhithe, about 30kms away.

Beard said the couple's missing Kia car was discovered near an unrelated property on Hall Rd in Glenfield with different number plates on it.

Based on activity near the family's home in Ellerslie, police were able to scour "hours and hours" of CCTV to locate a vehicle of interest.

Beard said at this stage there were no links to organised crime.
