Emergency crews were on standby as an Air New Zealand flight with suspected hydraulic issues landed safely at Auckland Airport today.
"A domestic Air New Zealand flight from Queenstown was reported to be having suspected hydraulic issues, that may have affected the plane’s ability to land safely," police said in a statement.
"Police were among those standing by to respond to a possible emergency landing.

"However, the plane was able to land safely with its landing gear down, and on time at around 11.07am."
Auckland Airport said emergency services had been on standby to "support the arrival of an aircraft".
"The aircraft has landed safely and is now taxiing to the gate."
Warren Williams, who was on the plane and filmed the landing, said the passengers were calm and no-one was panicking.
"It was a non-event, I must say," said Williams. "It could've been worse."
