A robot has crushed a man to death in South Korea after it apparently mistook him for the boxes of produce it was handling, South Korean media reported.
The man, a robotics worker, was inspecting the sensor operations of the robot at an agricultural produce distribution centre in South Gyeongsang province when it malfunctioned, according to the Yonhap news agency.
Police said the industrial robot appeared to have identified the man as a box of bell peppers, pushing his upper body against the conveyor belt and crushing his face and chest.
He was transferred to the hospital but later died of his injuries.
