Three people were cut free from their vehicles after a two-car crash in southeast Auckland this morning.
The crash took place at the intersection of Flatbush School Rd and Murphys Road shortly before 6am.
Fire and Emergency NZ northern shift manager Josh Pennefather said three people were "lightly trapped" in the two cars.
Rescue tools were used to remove them from the vehicles.
Police said four people in total were taken to hospital with serious and moderate injuries.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
Auckland Transport said traffic management is in place and there are diversions.
