Police investigate after Auckland infant's 'unexplained death'

Police are investigating after an infant was found dead in Papakura, South Auckland, during the early hours of today.

Police were called to the Red Hill Road property at around 4.46am "where an infant was located deceased".

A spokesperson said the child's death is currently being treated as "unexplained".

"Police will provide further information when we are in a position to do so."
