Police are appealing for the public's help in finding a driver of a car after a Napier woman was left critically injured yesterday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Sally Patrick said the woman was in the front yard of a Wyatt Ave address when she was struck about 6pm by a Mazda Astina, which pushed her into a tree.
The vehicle left the scene but was later found on nearby Dockery Ave.
Police believe the car was involved in a collision with another vehicle parked on Wyatt Ave and another on Roberts Terrace shortly before the victim was struck.
She is in a stable condition in the intensive care unit at Hawke's Bay Hospital.
The serious crash unit is investigating the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has surveillance footage that may overlook any of the involved streets, is asked to contact police on 105.
