Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming Squid Game reality show – bringing the world of the South Korean drama to life.

Squid Game: The Challenge, set to premiere this November, will see contestants compete in games based on the original series in the hopes of cashing in on a $4.56 million USD ($7.79 million NZD) cash prize.

Immersed in the world of the survival series, 456 real players will put their skills to the test in the upcoming game show, according to the official synopsis.

In the trailer released today, contestants are seen competing in games from the original series such as Red Light, Green Light – where even the giant doll makes a comeback.

A first look at other real life challenges was also given in the trailer, with a preview of the Glass Stepping Stones game where contestants have to cross a glass bridge without falling through the weak panels placed in their path.

“As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show - plus surprising new additions - their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them,” said the official synopsis.

Squid Game: The Challenge is set to hit screens on November 22, 2023, with its 10 episodes released on a weekly basis.
