Four men arrested after spate of Hamilton burglaries

Four men allegedly involved in multiple commercial burglaries in Hamilton were left with no escape this morning after police cordoned off a building where items were reportedly being stolen.

Police were alerted by a member of the public about "suspicious activity" occurring at a commercial premises on Higgins Road, Frankton at 7.20am.

Police liaised with the owner of the property who "confirmed through remote CCTV" there were multiple offenders in his business stealing items.

"Officers, including a police dog handler, converged on the address and cordoned it off so no offenders could escape," said police.

Police entered the building and located and arrested four men.

Located nearby, a vehicle was searched, where evidence of "other commercial burglaries" in the Hamilton area over the weekend was found.

"An investigation is ongoing to identify and speak to the victims in relation to this offending.

"All offenders will be held in police custody and will appear in Hamilton District Court for charges of burglary, and further charges are likely once the preliminary investigation has been completed."
