A person has been hospitalised overnight after being allegedly stabbed in the leg in Lower Hutt, police say.
The incident occurred early this morning in the suburb of Naenae, according to police.
"Police were called to a report of an alleged assault in Naenae. The victim received a stab wound to the leg and was taken to hospital," a police spokesperson said.
"The alleged offender was found nearby and taken into custody and police will be conducting a scene examination in Wilkie Crescent today."
