The Blues have confirmed Eden Park will remain their home for at least the next two years.

The Auckland-based Super Rugby club made headlines in August when they released their schedule for next year which noticeably didn't feature Eden Park, adding in a statement their home venue had yet to be confirmed.

While North Harbour’s QBE Stadium or Mount Smart Stadium were understood to be contenders at the time, the Blues confirmed this afternoon Eden Park will remain their home for the 2024 and 2025 Super Rugby seasons with a new deal.

Eden Park CEO Nick Sautner said it made sense for the Blues to stay, having been the club's home since their establishment in 1996.

“We are also proud to announce that we have extended our partnership with the Blues Aupiki team," Sautner said. "They will play several of their games at Eden Park, with multiple double-headers scheduled throughout the season.

"Our connection with the Blues underpins our commitment to investing in the growth of Super Rugby in New Zealand."

Blues CEO Andrew Hore added the club was also pleased to see the Aupiki squad get more games at the iconic New Zealand rugby venue.

"To have both Blues teams playing at the same venue on the same day will be a great spectacle for our fans,” Hore said.

The first game at Eden Park takes place on Saturday 23 March and sees the Blues take on the Crusaders, almost a month after the Blues open their season by hosting the Fijian Drua at Whangārei’s Semenoff Stadium on Saturday February 24.
