A man has been arrested as police investigate a spate of gang-related shootings at properties and a vehicle in the eastern Bay of Plenty in recent days.
On Sunday, a man went to a home in Ōpōtiki armed with a firearm and threatened the occupants.
A vehicle was shot at and stolen later that night, police said.
The following morning, shots were fired at another home.
A 29-year-old man has since been arrested.
He is due to appear in the Whakatāne District Court tomorrow on firearms-related charges.
It was followed by a further two incidents involving shots being fired at properties this morning.
No one was injured in the shootings, which were all "gang-related", Senior Sergeant Richard Miller said.
"These incidents all involve gang members targeting each other," he said.
"Those responsible for these incidents should be on notice that we have absolutely no tolerance for this kind of behaviour in our community.
"This offending is mindless and incredibly dangerous — and it is a miracle nobody has been seriously injured or killed."
Anyone with information has been urged to contact police.
