Person dies in hospital after horror Canterbury crash

A person has died in hospital overnight after a serious crash in Coalgate, Canterbury on Saturday morning.

The two-car crash happened at the intersection of Homebush Road and Malvern Hills Road shortly before 11am yesterday.

One person was critically injured and died from their injuries in Christchurch Hospital overnight.

Four others were seriously injured in the crash.

The circumstances of the crash are being investigated.
