Person dies following 2-car crash in Upper Hutt

One person has died following a two-car crash in Upper Hutt this afternoon.

Police say they were called to the scene on Main Rd North, in Timerlea, around 1.25pm.

A second person was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

The road was closed but has now reopened.
