New Zealand-born man dies fighting Hamas in Israel - report

A New Zealand-born man has reportedly died amid fighting between Israel and Hamas this week.

Adam Agmon "was killed in action defending the people of Israel from Hamas savagery", New Zealand Jewish community leader Juliet Moses said in a post on social media. "May his memory be a blessing."

And an article in the Times of Israel citing the Israeli Defence Force reports Sergeant First Class Adam Agmon, 21, has died.

A post shared by Moses said Agmon had an Silver Fern tattoo and played football.

He reportedly planned to watch the All Blacks play Ireland with his family over the weekend.

The post shared by Moses said Agmon was born in New Zealand to Israeli parents and returned to Israel "at a young age".

He is described as "peaceful and loving".

Agmon was buried in Misgav, the post said, after being "called out with his friends to save settlements".
