Meet the seniors that don't act their age

Some retirees who belong to a club aimed at friendship and fun are out to prove that age is just a number.

Sandra Harrod, 80, and her friend Ralph Martin, 77, are two members of Probus, which arose out of the Rotary Club.

There are 48 Probus clubs around the country, with almost 14,000 members — and these two are showing the world that age really is just a number.

Today's Probus agenda — jumping off the Sky Tower, a feat many haven't accomplished, regardless of age.

Probus Hobsonville member Geoff Hickman explained the ethos of the group.

"The kind of basic philosophy is fun, fellowship and friendship but it is open to everybody who is either retired or semi-retired."

Harrod said she loves talking to people and enjoys the activities Probus sets up, like bungy jumping.
