A US man has been arrested for drink driving, 17 minutes after he was released from custody for the same offence.

WKRN have reported the man was driving a tractor in Pennsylvania when he was arrested.

The driver, 49, was first taken into custody on September 16 after trying to flee the scene of a crash in a 1974 International Harvester 4000 series tractor.

WKRN said according to the crash report, the tractor and an SUV were at a stop sign when the tractor backed into the car and tried to leave the area. The driver of the RAV4 followed behind, honking to try and get the man's attention.

The 49-year-old then admitted to police he had been drinking and was arrested before being released.

"Approximately 17 minutes after being released from custody, the actor was found to be operating a tractor yet again on the roadway and was placed into custody for a 2nd DUI," police said.

No one was injured in either accident but Pennsylvania police are continuing to investigate.
