Body found in Waikato River

A body has been found in the Waikato River in Hamilton this evening.

At 5.30pm, a member of the public saw the body in the water and alerted police.

The body has been recovered and inquiries will begin to determine the person's identity, notify their next of kin and determine the circumstances around their death.
