Police have stood down cordons on a number of Hamilton streets after earlier asking people to avoid the area as an unknown incident unfolded.
The affected area included Bandon Street west of Greenwood Street – including Smith Street and Allen Street, in the suburb of Frankton, not far from Hamilton CBD.
Just before 7pm, police said cordons had been stood down and there was no risk to the public.
