Six people are in custody after an Auckland man was allegedly threatened and had his vehicle stolen.

Police say the incident occurred about 2.55am this morning on Mt Eden's Valley Rd.

The victim was uninjured.

"Police followed positive lines of inquiry and subsequently arrested six people in relation to the incident," a police spokesperson said.

The victim's vehicle was also recovered.

Inquiries are ongoing and charges are being considered.
