Person dies after single-car crash in Pahiatua

One person has died following a single-car crash in Pahiatua this afternoon.

Police say they were called to the scene on Tutaekara Rd around 3.25pm.

The person died at the scene.

"Police extend their condolences to their family and friends at this difficult time," police said.

The road remains closed with diversions in place.

Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
