A truck carrying carpet glue has rolled in South Auckland, leaking the substance over the road.
The incident occurred on Roscommon Rd in Wiri, and has led to delays in the area.
Police are advising motorists to expect southbound delays on State Highway 20 while the westbound lanes are closed for clean-up.
There were no injuries.
Incident controller Brad Harvey said they had been trying to dam drains in the area to stop the glue going down creeks and waterways.

"We're working with Waka Kotahi and the council and the transport company to coordinate a cleanup of the product."
He also said the product is not hazardous to people but could pose a threat to the environment.
"We're still waiting on resources from the transport company before we right the container truck. Once those are here, we'll tip the container truck back over and continue the cleanup".
No one was injured.
