One person dead after crash between car and diesel tanker

One person is dead after a crash between a car and a diesel tanker in Waikato this morning.

Fire and Emergency NZ said the accident happened around 11am near Tirau.

The driver of the truck survived but the driver of the car died.

Fire and Emergency said there were no leaks or risks of explosion from the diesel tanker.
