Cyclist left with critical injuries after Auckland crash

A cyclist has been left critically injured after a crash in Auckland's Devonport early this morning.

The single-bicycle crash happened on Vauxhall Rd about 5.45am.

A St John Ambulance spokesperson said the cyclist was taken to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition.

Police say inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

The road was closed while the scene was cleared but has since reopened.
