A motorcyclist has died after a crash on Auckland's Northwestern Motorway last night.

The single-vehicle crash occurred near Lincoln Rd about 10.25pm.

"Despite efforts by emergency services, the driver sadly died at the scene," police said.

"Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family at this difficult time."
