Man arrested after Tauranga store worker assaulted during robbery

A man who allegedly threatened and assaulted a store worker during a robbery in Tauranga earlier this month has been charged.

The incident occurred on April 8 about 3.35pm and saw a number of items stolen from the Cameron Rd store.

The store worker received minor injuries.

Bay of Plenty Police said a 34-year-old man was arrested yesterday and charged over the incident.

The man will appear in the Tauranga District Court tomorrow.
