A man in Hastings was assaulted and received facial injuries on Saturday afternoon.
Police say the incident took place at Cornwall Park at 2.15pm, and they are seeking witnesses to help establish what occurred.
"Anyone with information that could assist our investigation is asked to contact Police on 105 and quote file number 230304/1559," NZ Police said in a statement.
