Road closed as one person dies in Canterbury crash

One person is dead after a two vehicle crash in Canterbury this morning.

Police said the crash at Mouse Point Road, Hurunui happened around 8am.

Two others have been taken to hospital with serious and moderate injuries.

The road will be closed for at least two hours police said in a statement at 10.20am.

The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
