Investigation underway into fatal Christchurch house fire

One person has died in a house fire in Christchurch in the early hours this morning.

Emergency services were called to the fire at Camrose Place, Ilam at 3.47am.

A person was found dead at the address, police said.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.

Police said there were no indications of foul play at this stage but inquiries were ongoing.
