Two people were taken to hospital after a car crashed into an empty parked vehicle in Auckland's Beach Haven late last night.

The crash on Rangatira Rd was reported to police just before midnight.

St John Ambulance said two people were taken to Auckland Hospital. One person was in a critical condition and the other was in a serious condition.

The serious crash unit also attended the scene.

Police are making inquiries into the incident, and anyone with information is asked to call 105.
